Shumen – host of the Valery Velikov Memorial car race

The 21st edition of the “Valery Velikov Memorial” hillclimb car race will be held this Saturday and Sunday, October 8 and 9 in Shumen.

The competition is the second round of the National Mountain Climbing Championship. The official opening is on Saturday in front of the Valery Velikov monument at 12:25 p.m., and at 1:30 p.m. training starts in three heats. On Sunday, at 9.30 a.m., the warm-up race “WARM UP” will start. At 11:00 a.m. the competition will start, which will take place in three heats. Each car will start in 30 seconds. 53 pilots have declared their participation in the race.

The start is in front of the entrance to the “Kiosks” park through the “Hut” area, and the finish – after the “Pazachnitsa” villa, in the direction of the “Founders of the Bulgarian State” monument. The length of the track is 3350 m. The entry ticket for the race costs BGN 10, and the pass is valid for both days of the race. On Saturdays and Sundays, for the convenience of the citizens, the company Shumen Passenger Transport Ltd. has provided a bus for spectators along the track from the start to the finish before the first race and between the first and second races.
