“Biserna” Cave opens to visitors from April 2, 2025.
Entry is by appointment ONLY. Applications are accepted on weekdays by calling 054/800 765.
Working hours are from Wednesday to Sunday, Monday and Tuesday are closed.
The entry hours during the week are 10:00 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. , and on holidays and weekends, tourists will be accepted from 10:00 a.m. , 11:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., respectively.
Visitors should wear comfortable shoes and warm clothes, as the temperature in the cave is 10 degrees and the humidity is 100%. The route inside is about 800 meters long one way. It is not recommended to bring pets and small children.
The Biserna Cave can be reached on foot. Vehicles can be parked on the asphalt road before the turn for the villa of the Shumen Municipality. There are two walking routes – from the Kyoshkоve Park and from the junction for the Shumen Fortress on the road to the villa of the Shumen Municipality. Signs are placed along all routes.

The young singer Nika and the exceptional pianist and composer Filip Alexandrov will take part in it. The special orchestration of the works is the work of maestro Slavil Dimitrov, whose arrangements will add a new dimension to familiar and beloved melodies.
The concert “Night Songs” is being held with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria.

Shumen Municipality also participated in the 41st edition of the largest international tourism exhibition in Bulgaria – “Vacation & SPA Expo”. The forum was held from March 9 to 11, 2025 in Sofia and is one of the leading events in the sector in our country.
The stand of the Municipal Enterprise “Tourism, Public Events and Attractions” of the Municipality of Shumen presented the opportunities for tourism in the city and the settlements in the region. The stand itself presented the Monument “Creators of the Bulgarian State” and was under the motto “Bulgaria Begins Here”. The municipal enterprise provided visitors with information about the portal visitshumen.bg and the activities of the Tourist Information Center, historical and architectural landmarks in the region, as well as companies providing tourist products and services.
Representatives from the Bulgarian-Romanian Chamber, as well as from the Bulgarian Association of Travel Agencies, various tour operators and travel agents visited the Municipality’s stand. Offers of tourist routes and tourist products on the territory of the Shumen Municipality were presented to them. The representatives of the Shumen stand met and established contacts with their colleagues from other municipalities and organizations.
The exhibition presents various structures providing services in the tourism sector, municipalities, tour operators, travel agencies, hotel and holiday complexes, accommodation facilities, tourism service providers, insurance companies, as well as lecturers in the field of tourism.
The forum participants were over 240 from 16 countries, including Bulgaria, India, China, Egypt, Greece, Spain, Turkey, Romania, and others.
The international tourism exhibition #TârguldeTurismalRomâniei #romexpo was held from 20.02. to 23.02.2025 in Bucharest.
Shumen Municipality took part in one of the most prestigious tourist exhibitions in Europe. Shumen was part of the national stand of the #MinistryofNaturism and actively presented local historical, cultural landmarks and attractions. Contacts were established with tour operators, municipalities and businesses, offering them an alternative, unique anddiverse tourism.
The #destinationShumen stand was colorful, and special representatives were Deputy Mayor Daniela Ruseva and a representative of the hotel business in the city.
More than 100 exhibitors in the tourism sector participated in the exhibition, but Bulgaria had by far the largest and most beautiful stand – with unique landscapes and countless live flowers that attracted attention with their beauty.
