Today we celebrate 41 years since the creation of the “Founders of the Bulgarian State” monument in Shumen

November 28, 2022 marks the 41st anniversary of the opening of Bulgaria’s largest monument “Founders of the Bulgarian State” in Shumen – one of the most significant works of monumental art from the 1980s, representing the country’s history through architecture, mosaic and sculpture.

The memorial complex “Founders of the Bulgarian State” is one of the most visited tourist sites in Bulgaria. 24,120 organized and individual tourists, including 3,685 foreigners, visited the monument this year. 326 visitors have watched the movie “Bridge between eras”, dedicated to 40 years since its construction. The information center is a preferred place where young people take their marriage vows – 76 couples have entered into a civil marriage this year in the hall of the “Founders of the Bulgarian State” memorial complex.
