Celebrating the 120th anniversary of the birth of Veselin Stoyanov with a symphony concert

With a performance of Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 3 by Veselin Stoyanov, the Shumen Symphony will mark one hundred and twenty years since the birth of the composer, a native of Shumen. The young and talented pianist Darina Dikova, a student from Prof. Dr. Borislava Taneva’s class, will play solo on the piano. The program will also include Suite No. 1, Op. 43 by PI Tchaikovsky conducted by maestro Grigor Palikarov, who is making his first guest appearance on the Shumen stage. Parts of the suite were performed in Bulgaria for the last time in December 1953 with the Sofia Philharmonic.
