Shumen hosts the National Dance Festival “The Magic of Dance”

The 17th edition of the Magic of Dance National Dance Festival will be held this Saturday and Sunday, April 29 and 30 in the Arena Shumen hall. The event is organized by the Municipality of Shumen and the Municipal Youth Center. Entry for spectators is free. 

This year’s edition of the festival will include 25 dance formations from Shumen, Aytos, Varna, Veliki Preslav, Dobrich, Lyaskovets, Mezdra, Pomorie, Razgrad, Ruse, Silistra and Targovishte. Nearly 200 participants will perform in three genres – contemporary, characteristic and street dances. They will be divided into four age groups: from 5 to 8 years, from 9 to 11 years, from 12 to 15 years and over 16 years.

Shumen will be represented in all age groups and styles by the dance formations of the Municipal Youth Home – TF “Emotion”, TF “WOW” and TS “Favourit”, as well as by the graduates of BS “Perli” and Group “Fantasia” at the National Theater ” Dobri Voynikov-1856″.

The performances of the participants will be evaluated by a jury composed of: chairwoman Prof. Anelia Yaneva, teacher of contemporary dances at the Southwestern University “Neofit Rilski” in Blagoevgrad and members: Boryana Koleva, choreographer and head of the Children’s Dance Ensemble “Veselache” at CPLR-ODK “Anastas Stoyanov” – Shumen and Yordan Vassilev from Burgas, hip-hop and break dance instructor.

The National Dance Festival “The Magic of Dance” has a competitive nature. The purpose of the event is to promote youth amateur creativity, exchange information on development, new styles and achievements in various dance directions.
