The graffiti panel in Shumen is officially finished!

The “Forest Graffiti” project is a series of graffiti installations united by the theme of protecting Bulgaria’s forest wealth and protecting biodiversity in the selected areas. The initiative aims to cover five Bulgarian cities – Shumen, Dobrich, Burgas, Pernik and Sofia, near which there is illegal logging or a large number of registered fires. For each of these cities, an individual and one-of-a-kind piece of art will be created in the form of a mobile plasterboard panel or spray-painted public wall. At the heart of the project is the idea of creating art with a social cause, which would direct the attention of citizens to socially significant and painful topics, such as the negative consequences of anthropogenic activity on the environment. The project is a conceptual continuation of the National Youth Competition “Art will save the Earth” to create art on a social theme. The competition was successfully implemented at the end of 2021 and managed to attract over 40 young people from all over the country. At the end of the initiative, the participants had the opportunity to present their works to the public in the form of an outdoor exhibition, which was held in the city of Shumen and was covered by national and local media.

The unique graffiti panel is the work of the young artist Tim Topalov. The creative process took place between July 28 and August 1.

If you want to see the panel live, already completed, in two weeks you will have the opportunity to do so at the Vasil Drumev Drama and Puppet Theater, where it will be exhibited. We will additionally announce the date.
