A merchant from Shumen Hadji Dimitraki Verby built this house in 1883 for his first-born son Evtim Verbev – a sanitary doctor, deputy in the Constituent Assembly and mayor of Shumen in 1908. Since 2020 a Café called Kufatarea has opened its doors on the 1st floor where you can taste the famous white candy in water (byalo sladko) and have a cup of coffee prepared on hot sand.
