Community centers

Community centre Dobri Voinikov – 1856 was established by Sava Dobroplodni in the spring of 1856 and has a history of 150 years. Along with other community centres in Svishtov and Lom it lays the foundations of the community centre activity in Bulgaria. Here was set up the beginning of the Bulgarian theatre when the adapted comedy “Mihal Mishkoed” was staged on August 15th 1856, of the Art Gallery, the Artists’ Association, and the Writers Literary club Mayakovsky. The first operetta was staged here in 1914 thus giving a start to the development of the genre in Bulgaria. The first children’s library was opened.
