“Vassil Drumev” Drama and Puppet Theater’s rehearsal policy is traditionally focused on Bulgarian classical and modern drama titles. It hosts Drumev Theater Festival “New Bulgarian Drama”. Among the priorities of the Ministry of culture, the Shumen Theater Festival comes second after the International Theater Festival “Varna summer”. The first theatre performance in Bulgaria “Mihal” was played in Shumen in 1813.
